When looking at categories hit the green button You can hide them

To hide a channel lock it and then hide locked channel category

You already can do that

That bug has been reported and fixed It'll be fine on next update

Do you have box set up so it goes straight to live tv?

are you leaving it on that channel? changing channel? leaving on standby? ,shutting off?

What method of recording are you using?

For catchup you don't need to assign storage 

Try rewind etc on a channel that is not marked catchup

That is not timeshift ,that is catchup
