Did you do a hard reset (pin method) or soft reset (from menus) ? Try the hard reset.

The link to the HDMI to AV converter I provided is from amazon CANADA. And probably a nicer solution that the A/V cable which has piles of different varieties out there. Many of us are from Canada (hence by default I provided . For CAD$16, it would solve your 2+yr old thread Or if you just want to extract the audio, you could just use a digital to optical converter https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0CZN4MJ6B or an HDMI audio extractor www.amazon.ca/dp/B0DSVST2ZD All options are pretty cheap.

Same E1 box. WHAT theme launcher did you switch to which forced you to reset ? I never had any issue with Buetooth on it either. I'll check again tonight to see if there was any update since my last check that may have broken it.

Firmware v20220919 is the latest and current IPTV version is v5.0.946. So you are running the latest. I would not expect any more firmware updates since no new OS related features will be added. But IPTV software still gets the occasional bug fixes every now and then (like all 4 and 5 series boxes).

No offence, and I am glad you find a workaround. But honestly, why is it such a "very important function". I have NEVER had to take a screenshot of any of my buzz boxes. Have no clue why you would need to, other than occasionally maybe having to send a screen snapshot to BuzzTV for reporting bugs. And in those cases, a quick snapshot with phone camera is sufficient. I do occasionally need to capture a short video to provide small tutorials to some of my elderly friends, but I ended up just getting a small cheap USB video capture device from amazon for short video tutorials.

And how are you supposed to protect yourself on errors like that ? It's not like you don't have the pinouts, and if seller said one thing and you got another, then that is not something you could have foreseen. Worst case, guess you can always just buy the required connectors and build your own cable. Or just spend a little bit more and get an HDMI to AV converter, and you can use it with any device. After all this time, I'd probably just get the converter. Something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0CZNPQ937

Keep in mind that 5Ghz may be faster, but it is more temperamental as you get further away from the router. 2.4Ghz may be slower (but usually plenty for most IPTV) but it is also more stable on longer ranges "IF you have properly selected the right channels to avoid congestion". It can sometimes be a bit of a trial an error before you get it "just" right. Maybe use an app on your phone (I think I used to use Wifi Analyzer) which can graphically show you the analysis of the different channels and which ones seem more congested than others in your area of the home.

Like Ryu said, it is NOT a good idea to use as internal storage. That can cause all sorts of issues, and the day your ssd or usb connection get's flaky, it will corrupt your whole box and be forced to do another factory reset. Format it as portable storage and it can be used for downloading movies, recordings, etc.. as long as you set the options accordingly int he PVR options section. And as a test, IF it is possible, if the freezing persists, try to run an ethernet cable from your router, to the box, to eliminate the possibility that it is some sort of interference with the wifi causing the freezing. Does your router only show a single SSID and handle band steering internally, or does it present 2 SSID (one for 2.4Ghz band, and one for 5Ghz band) where you manually can select the one you want ? Very often many routers can cause glitches in the way they try to do band steering and sometimes constantly try to renegotiate back and forth between both bands. You are better off, if possible to disable any automatic band steering and ideally be able to manually choose a 2.4 or 5Ghz SSID.

For many drivers (including network), you are at the mercy of the chipset vendors. And historically network drivers are a mess with "sleep" or "Hibernate" options. Your combination of hardware (router, switches, dhcp server setting [like lease times], etc..) may be making the issue worse, but with very few exception, using sleep in many of these media boxes is always a toss of a coin, and eventually you need to do a reboot to ensure things are clean. So personally, for the last decade on ALL of my media boxes, if possible, I select that they go into proper shutdown mode instead of sleep/suspend. Sure it take an extra 30 seconds to boot, but at least you know things were all freshly initialized t each boot.

**NEW** Buzz 5 App Update - Version 946 - Jan 13th, 2025
Emporium replied to allaboutbuzz's topic in BuzzTV 5
First thing you can do is post in the correct section for your box, and not hijack a 3 month old thread which is irrelevant to your issue. Then provide more info, like exact model of box you are using (there are a few different X5 models). You Software version (5.0.xxx), firmware version (V202xxxxxxx). Why type of subscription you are using MAC, XC, M3U ? Have you tried using a VPN service ? Many ISP are blocking iptv streams lately and worse during prime time peak hours. Start a NEW thread, and include the pertinent info. Please do NOT continue it in this thread. -
Has nothing to do with the box. That is the nature and limitation of a MAC connection and all servers I know can only do single connection with a MAC based server. Keep in mind that a MAC is supposed to be a unique identifier for a device, and as such, the servers were designed to only handle a single physical connection for each device. Subscriptions using the XC (Xtreme Codes) API are different, they uses a username/password combination and therefore don't have such a limitation. Just like you can log into your favourite website from multiple devices, it is the same for XC. And they implement the connection limitation on the server to allow a certain number of connections, depending on how much you pay. The primary server I use, allows 2 simultaneous connections by default when using XC API. And has the option for 4 or 6 connections (at an extra cost) for those who need that.
-
It all depends on your provider. This will not work if you have a MAC type subscription, since your service needs to offer multiple connections. With an XC API type connection you can have the option for multiple simultaneous connections. You can check what yours has by going into the menu->settings->account info. And you can see the max connections vs active connections (if your account/service has multiple connection options). Keep in mind to record something while watching something else, you need to have at least 2 under max connections, since you need 1 stream for the recording, and 1 stream for your live TV.

Storage (connecting to NAS as external storage)
Emporium replied to buzywoman's topic in PowerStation
There is already a thread dedicated to P6 wishlist. And I had already requested this feature https://stbtalk.com/topic/14151-buzztv6-application-wishlist-for-new-features-and-enhancements/page/6/#findComment-37232 -
Even it it did work, if I recall correctly with the P6 (BT500) the voice function only works outside of the buzztv app (I did very limited testing on voice functionally). So mostly commands from home screen. It's quicker to just use the remote to navigate anywhere I want for the amount time it would take to speak the command Not particularly useful in my opinion. Don't expect Alexa, Google or Siri type of interaction with any of the boxes.
