JamesMyshrall Posted February 22, 2021 Author Posted February 22, 2021 Thankyou for your reply. I have changed the default player to 2ndary. I still have the same problem. My screen still goes black. It goes black only for a second or two. It is very much aggravating. You are watching a program and then the screen goes black for 2 seconds, back on again and I may watch the program for 2 minutes and have the screen go black again for a couple seconds again. There is no particular time frame on how long you can watch the program, it may be 2 minutes or it may go 30 minutes before going black. Just mainly a pain in the a$$. Any help from anyone would be great. Thank you all for the assistance; Jamie (James Myshrall) Quote
JamesMyshrall Posted February 22, 2021 Author Posted February 22, 2021 Thankyou for your reply. I have Fiberoptic with the fastest 5G on the internet. Speed is not a problem, it is not buffering, it is a black screen. I am far from a pro and happy to hear thoughts from anyone to cure my problem Jamie Quote
Justkodia Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 My suggestion is to try another HDMI cable and see if that clears it up. Quote
nbs. Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 (edited) Is the spinning circle on your screen? Or just black? Edited February 22, 2021 by nbs. Quote
JamesMyshrall Posted February 22, 2021 Author Posted February 22, 2021 Thankyou for your reply I have tried a different HDMI cable. Will most defintanly will try another HDMI Cable. I will let you know if this worked. Thank you Quote
JamesMyshrall Posted February 22, 2021 Author Posted February 22, 2021 Thankyou for your reply. There is no spinning circle. I would recognize that as buffering ,not enough speed. This is a black screen. Quote
nbs. Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 You get spinning circle when a stream is down too , not just speed Quote
JamesMyshrall Posted February 22, 2021 Author Posted February 22, 2021 Thankyou for your reply. No spinning wheel. Going to call the provider now and request help. Will post and let you know if there is any change. ; Jamie Quote
Avenger Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 With my server, if you have clone your mac, for example use 1 account with 2 or 3 different box (with the use of box able to change mac like xpl3000 or by using software like stbemu, the server detect this and do exactly has you described, stop video and sound for 1 second every 30 seconds. Probably not the problem, but worth the mention. Quote
JamesMyshrall Posted February 22, 2021 Author Posted February 22, 2021 I kindly thankyou for sharing. All information is good to have in finding the problem. I appreciate all efforts; Jamie Quote
BillyBoeing Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 I am having the same issue. Get the black screen every few minutes then comes back. Very aggravating. Quote
JamesMyshrall Posted March 13, 2021 Author Posted March 13, 2021 Hello Billy Boeing, I have been unable to find a cure for the problem. We have Fiber Optic internet. Extremely fast internet. I had believed that Bell Aliant is causing the problem. Just tried to watching a movie on it again. Needless to say I found it to be annoying and shut it down. Please let me know if you find a cure and share it with me. Jamie Quote

JamesMyshrall Posted March 13, 2021 Author Posted March 13, 2021 Yes I have tried a VPN and yes it was VOD. Medi Player? I was not aware of more than one Media Player. Wish I could have a cure for my problem. I will look for another Medi Player. Quote
