TD66 Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Just purchased a brand new XRS4500MAX and had high hopes. I was able to connect initially to my provider then lost the connection. Was unable to connect and had to do a reset, then was able to connection. Now I'm not able to connect anymore even when I do a reset. I use my phone and ipt smarters pro and able to connect using the credentials provided. Please help. Quote
dishuser Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 ask your provider if they have alternate url's Quote
TD66 Posted December 5, 2020 Author Posted December 5, 2020 Thanks, we've tried alternative URL's and still no luck. Quote
TD66 Posted December 5, 2020 Author Posted December 5, 2020 I’m using streamline and was hard connected. I disconnected my Ethernet cable and went wifi and it works now. My modem is bridged. I wonder if that is blocking it. Quote
dishuser Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 when using ethernet make sure wifi is turned off Quote
TD66 Posted December 5, 2020 Author Posted December 5, 2020 No kidding, I never thought of that. Thanks a million. Really appreciate the feedback. Quote
TD66 Posted December 5, 2020 Author Posted December 5, 2020 Tried with wifi off and hard connected, still no luck. The only way it works is wifi and my Ethernet cable disconnected. I also did confirm when I’m hard connected I can see the internet and play YouTube. Quote
TD66 Posted December 5, 2020 Author Posted December 5, 2020 I agree its a strange one until last night at 23:30 I tried again and no issue at all. Watched programs for a few hours and no problems at all. Tried again this morning and works great. It appears that at peak times it works for usually a few minutes and then goes into buffering and then I lose the connection. No problems in non-peak hours. I'm wondering if it's the provider and whether they provide different URL's for different locations. My reseller is located on the East Coast and I'm on the West coast. Quote
nbs. Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 It could be your isp not having enough bandwidth as well as your provider not having enough bandwidth A lot are having issues since covid Quote
TD66 Posted December 5, 2020 Author Posted December 5, 2020 Makes sense and explains a lot. Now to find a new provider. Quote
