I've tried recording  a couple shows and they appear to record but when I click to watch I get bounced back to the main screen. Is there more instructions or an I doing something wrong?

I thought I heard they were disabling recording to internal

There are plenty of uses for storage besides recording

Glad it's going for you anyway

For now it was just on our older models

3000, Basic, 3900, 3100

As they have a very small amount of space available.

We will allow recording for now on the 4000 + 4500s.

For now??? With a 64GB space which I really didn't want that seems like over reach.

Am pretty confident we won't change it on the 4500

The issue on our older models, was it had about 4GB of Free Space, without any apps installed
If a user recorded just 3-4 Hours of Live TV, the box would have 0MB left
Then not work properly and also unable to take updates and users would blame it on the box.

With 64GB you have about 50-60 Hours of Recording to the Internal Storage.

Yeah I figured. Best reserve a few gigs for updates in the OS.  Easy to do and you won't scare users.

I've had a few boxes now and really like this one. I've never used recording until trying the other night which failed. But I have it worked out.

Cheers,

Peter

Any recommendations on what type of external storage is preferable.  Speed etc would be of interest.  Thanks.

Also, I see that the record function on the XRS 4500 is still pretty primitive.  And chance we'll see repetitive programming and auto-delete after a specified number of program records?  I hate to say it but much like a PVR/DVR on dish or Bell provided.   It's hard to give up some things?

Thanks in advance.

We have plans to add a lot more features to PVR
This includes what you mentioned.

This will take time though, as it is a lot of work
So we have no set date when this will be available.
