Wasaga Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Anyone have any idea what might be causing these two issues that happen quite often. 1> Turn on the box and the screen is totally black. When you push down on the remote control OK button the channel guide comes up and you can see what is listed for each channel and move up and down the guide. The stations will not come in and the off and on button will do nothing until you unplug the box then everything works fine. 2> You switch channels the picture is there but no sound. You go back to the channel you where on and then back to the channel with no sound and it is there. The same thing happens when you switch channels and the program is frozen and no sound. Quote
Emporium Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I have tested the L1 quite a bit and sure I've had a few minor things, but I have never had any of the 2 issues you describe. Maybe you need to do a reset of the box and try again. Quote
Wasaga Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago Don't resets have to be done by the person who sold you the box and program? They have the server information and password to set up your programming right? Quote
Emporium Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago If they have preloaded and "locked" your programming information (so you can't see the URL - and possible username/password), they yes. My servers are all unlocked and URL/url/password have been given to me, so I can re-enter all my server information myself after a reset. Ask your seller if they can give you the server/credentials for your service, since you may possibly need to do a reset of the box due to odd behaviours. Quote
Wasaga Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago Thank You I will try that because it is a pain to drive a hour each way every time for him to perform that function which he has done twice now since Dec.28/25 when I got the box. Quote
Wasaga Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago Quick question for you are none of the shows available in 4K or sound other than plan stero? My box settings don't show any of that information or is that only in the highier priced boxs where you can add apps? Quote
Emporium Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago The box itself is capable of 4K. I can't comment about anything other than plain stereo (since that is all I use with it), but I would be surprised it doesn't support some of the basic 5.1 surround via passthrough. However there are NOT many services out there that provide 4K streams. Many claim they do, but many are also "fake 4K". 4K, which has actually been upscaled, or bitrate incredible reduced that 1080p actually looks better. Many services may have a 4K "category" with a few 4K channels but rarely a huge selection. Not saying they don't exist, but most are not. I'd rather see a real 1080p stream with proper bitrate to avoid artifacts, than a crappy 4K with reduced bitrate that just makes me nauseous Keep in mind that the L1 is the buzz entry level box. There are no frills. Basic IR remote, Linux OS (so no app store or sideloading of other apps), with basic Dual band WiFi and only 10/100 ethernet (no gigabit). Nice box for basic IPTV use, and quite cheaply priced in consequence. But if you are looking for more advanced features, you may want to look for the higher level boxes, like the BuzzTV Classic series. And the recently releases G-Series google certified boxes. 1 Quote
Wasaga Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Again Thank you for the great information Emporium it really helps me understand the box and steering me in the right direction. Quote
