Hello, My new unit with the bt350 remote setup and updates went perfectly... Thanks to help from STB`s moderators. I did notice however that unlike my other boxes that there is no radio button icon for the remote on the home screen page (for the updates and such). Is this something I should be worried about?

Thanks for the response.

Radio... is what early computers had as the icon buttons for select on/off or drop down windows. I am old and learning this stuff as my years we/i worked with dos.

From the home page  yes I can select OTA icon and check for updates and from the same line on the main page/home page on my PowerStation and my x5 ax, I can then select an icon button to check for updates and stuff for my remotes. This is where I do not have the icon/button to do anything with the remote on my Anniversary Edition Classic. So I am inquiring if it is supposed to be without to ability to check for updates for the BT-350 remote.

With very few exceptions, firmware updates for remotes would typically go out at the same time as box firmware on the classic buzz boxes.

Do you not have a "remote" app in the settings menu, or under Buzz Utilities ? where you can map your colored buttons and you can see remote firmware version, etc.. ?

The new Gbox (with google remote) is the only buzz box where remote updates go out as standalone remote updates.

Is there something not working with the BT350 anyhow, which you believe it needs a firmware update ?

Thank you for taking the time, it means something.

My device and remote work flawless as I can see. I cannot check the settings or utilities at this time as it is at my sons home. What I am concerned about is when on the home page and I scroll down to the ALL APS row of icon/buttons for example it goes like this on my PowerStation (app installer/ Aptoide Tv/Buzz TV 5/ Buzztv OTA update/ Buzztv Smart Remote/ and it continues. On my X5-AX it goes from home page 1 row below All apps (appinstaller/ Aptoide TV/ Buzz Tv OTA/ buzztv SMART REMOTE/ Crome)

along the same row of buttons/slections on the Anniversary Classic Edition there is no button/switch/radio button for the remote. I do remember seeing the firmware update for the BT-350 during the initial set setup so I know that the firmware did happen and everything seems fine but like I state the is no access from the home page. Is there supposed to be?

So my understanding, you are wondering why there is no "buzztv SMART REMOTE" option ?

Keep in mind the remotes are very different.  The X5 and the Powerstation have "smart" remotes (BT400/BT500) which you program to your TV and all.

The Classic uses the BT350 which is not a Smart remote by the same definition.  You do pair it using Bluetooth, and other than the 4 IR learning buttons, there is no programming the remote to match your TV, etc..  I typically don't program my BT400/BT500 remotes to my TV anyhow, but some do.  The BT350 does not have that option (and I personally prefer it that way).  I prefer the BT100/200/250 and 350 remote layouts, over the BT400/BT500 remotes, but that is personal taste.  Since you are not "programming/matching" the remote to your TV in the same fashion you really don't need that app on the Classic Anniv, hence why it is not included.

That smart remote app is included typically on devices that ship with the BT400 or BT500 remote.
