Razer Posted Sunday at 02:32 PM Posted Sunday at 02:32 PM My Bt400 remote in Bluetooth mode works great except it will NOT power on my X5 once powered on everything else is 100% any advise Quote
Emporium Posted Sunday at 05:29 PM Posted Sunday at 05:29 PM And that surprises you ? When a box is powered OFF, then so is the BT chip The BT400 should be able to power on the box via IR (pointing the remote to the unit). The BT400 falls back into IR mode once the BT connection is dropped when the box shuts down. If the device is in "suspend" mode, I am not 100% sure if it maintains the BT connection, since all my boxes are set to shutdown instead of suspend. I prefer a full shutdown, since it ensures that the box starts from a clean boot every time, and drivers are always cleanly initialized not dragging glitches over from one session to another. And before you mention other devices, like the firecrap, mii box and even the shield, they do not have a true "shutdown" option. When you press the power button on those, they just go into suspend/sleep mode. 2 Quote
Razer Posted Sunday at 06:29 PM Author Posted Sunday at 06:29 PM That kind of defeats the purpose of Bluetooth is you can only control 99% of the functions 3 Quote

SERIOSULY ????? Then switch to suspend instead of shutdown (like I mentioned some boxes do to achieve this), and knock yourself out. The Buzz IR receivers on these boxes are some of the most sensitive ones I've ever seen in the industry, that in the past my BT was disconnected for weeks and I did not even realize it since it was responding no matter where my remote was pointing (unless it is under the covers). Shutdown is shutdown!!! Not shutdown with one eye open. You want partial shutdown, then switch to suspend and live with any potential side effects. When I shut down my box, I want it to be brain dead, and not keep any radios turned on (and that includes bluetooth). If IR is too difficult, then connect the box on a smart plug, and then use your cell phone to turn on the power from the comfort of anywhere in the world (even more powerful than bluetooth). Orient with the IR sensor (front of box) toward the top, and then point the remote to the ceiling. The IR signal will easily bounce off the ceiling (these are not like the crappy Chinese boxes where the IR remote needs to be within 5ft of the IR receiver).. Or other options are: Switch to suspend mode (like other boxes). I'd tell you to enable HDMI CEC, but that would mean you'd need to keep TV1 on to be able to use the box on TV2..
