Setting up New B5, Not allowing be to Enter Google Account Iinfo

Hello Everyone,

Just bought a B5 box, unpackaged it and updated - but  - can't download off the playstore without be google account configured,  can't configure via settings as it just does nothing when you click on the account setting option.  

Anyone know haw to fix?

Go to  settings off the main menu the to add accounts.

Its always asked me to login to Google I've never had to go into settings

Same here.. As soon as you launch play store, since there is no account already on the box, it brings up the login screen.

Yes - when I launch playstore and I attempt to signin  it basically brings up a "checking info" box, which then disappears,  and DOES NOT allow me to enter my credentials.

SO I tried through SETTINGS - Accounts to add,  click on it a momentary pause, and nothing, 

WTF cannot put my google credentials in at all....   catch-22

btw - youtube app worked but playstore  doesn't 

 

AND tried google browser - signin - does NOTHING,  wont prompt at all

Just curious, are you connected wired or wireless ?  I know it sounds dumb but whatever you are connected, try to switch.  So if you are wired, try wireless (or vice versa) if possible.

You could always try a hard reset to see if it was not some initial config glitch.

I already did a soft reset

I'm connected via wired, so let me try my wireless first and see if that works.

I honestly don't you google play store much anyhow.  Unless you have a paid app or subscription, it's not too critical.

For most of the apps I use, I download the APK files from a number of mirror sites, or I have the APKs already on my NAS server and a USB key and side load them all.  Other option is to use APTOID which is preinstalled on the box.

Probably some strange glitch during initial setup.  I know some of the stuff we ask to try sounds "pointless" to some, but there is a "logic" to the madness

I no longer use my google account on any of my media boxes.  I have no need for it.  I have all the APK downloaded, and I will not update unless I "need" to update.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
