Mark7 Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Hi everyone, hope all is well. I have 2 Classics in the same house, same internet provider, power conditioned, same server, and 1 is freezing after a few hours of being ON. If it is unplugged for a few minutes, and restarted, it is fine for a few hours, then it freezes again. Any ideas? Thanks for the support Mark7 IMG_68101.3gp Quote
Mark7 Posted October 8, 2023 Author Posted October 8, 2023 Trying power supplies right now. Also, the remote is unresponsive when it freezes. Thanks, Mark7 Quote
Mark7 Posted October 8, 2023 Author Posted October 8, 2023 Okay, swapped power supplies, same problem. Going to try swapping the box locations, might be HDMI cable related? It's on a custom built media center. Thanks, Mark7 Quote
Emporium Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Does it get any airflow in the media center ? I have a few boxes on my desk, and if I forget and put something on top of them they can get pretty warm. OK, mine are not in any enclosed area, so they don't "overheat", but if they were in an enclosed area with little airflow, I am pretty sure some of them "could" get hotter than what they "should" be. Mark7 Posted October 8, 2023 Author Posted October 8, 2023 Okay, both boxes have adequate air flow, not Hot. Switched installations, same box, same freezing, so not HDMI, Power supply, Internet provider, or server,,, Will swap it out, and bring it to Buzz next week. Thanks everyone for your help. Mark7 Posted October 8, 2023 Author Posted October 8, 2023 No, what is the procedure for that? I assume all server info, and settings, will be erased, correct? Thanks, Mark7 Quote
Emporium Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Yes all will be erased... But for testing I guess you can just recreate one server for now. Returning it anyhow, so not much to lose Here is the link for reset of 4500, but procedue is same for most buzz untis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9l1x3KJl_jE 2 Quote
Mark7 Posted October 11, 2023 Author Posted October 11, 2023 Hi everyone, the Hard Start seems to have fixed the Freezing problem. Thank you everyone for the support. Side note: the server info did have to be reloaded. Fully expecting that. Mark7 3 Quote
