No way and even that would be depending on 3rd party (like imdb/tbdb for VOD/TV Series).  And on LiveTV, there is no real rating included for the content.

But what I had done when my nephews were younger was create a separate server entry.  This server entry would use the same server as my main entry, BUT I had created a single favorites category and had added all the children's channels I approved of.  And to be on the safe side, I had hidden all the other categories.  So even if the press "OK" and back on the dpad, there was only a single category (since all the rest are hidden).

Depending on your provider, you can also probably hide a bunch of categories from the VOD/TV Series section also, just in case.

Keep in mind, this is simple a server entry.  So when the kids are gone, you can just reselect your main server entry, which has all you normal unrestricted categories.

BTW: Don't try to change server entry in front of the kids, do it ideally before they show up 🙂  They are pretty quick and pick up on how to switch back and forth pretty quick.

Thank you very much. I will set up a separate server for my granddaughter. I understand how quick kids are. When I get stumped on my iphone she can sort it out. An 8 year old showing her 80 year old Grandfather how to fix it. it blows me away sometimes.

  2. Is there anyway on the P6 to set content ratings other than the adult channels which are locked.

I would like to ensure my 8 year old grand daughter does not accidentally open horror or violence shows.

  3. I have been trying to get used to the new P6.

I have managed to set it up and it is running extremely well. It is really quite fast compared to my XRS4500. Two things I have not been able to sort out.

The first is the program search feature that was available in the EPG on the XRS4500. I have not been able to find it  or set it up if that is needed.

The second is having the P6 go to the server I was last watching when started rather than going to the Home page.

Any help or advise would be appreciated.

  4. We have a Buzz classic set up for my wife in her sewing room.

We need to find a simple to operate replacement remote for her.

A remote that only does the basic functions would be perfect.

  5. I am setting up a Buzz TV "The Classic" on a Harmony remote.

The harmony does not have The Classic listed under their device list.

Does anyone know what other Buzz TV player would be close in terms of remote codes.

  6. Does anyone use a streaming app with their X5? I have been advised to move to a streaming app rather than the buzz built in app to get rid of freezing.

  7. I have loaded Nord onto my 4500xrs. It works however I cannot control it. The connection page does not respond to disconnect commands.

Anyone have any ideas whether there is an issue with the 4500xrs and Nord?

I have an X5 also and there are no problems between it and Nord.

btw, thats very powerful box you have it. )

I agree. I was getting a bit confused by the operator of one of my services. He was saying my issues were caused by my Buzz X5 not being strong enough to handle his server.

I was telling him his server went down for at least 3 hours every day. Today it was 6 hours. I tried doing every thing at my end to deal with it. I will reboot the Buzz and reboot my router almost every day when the issue happened. I run 500 mbps fiber and have 6 wifi extender pods through out the house. The wifi at the Buzz usually measures 230 to 300 mbps .

I tried hooking into the connection on one of my wifi pods and it made no difference. The same thing happened.

I'd really like to sort out the issue, when this server is working it is terrific. There are few if any freezes for days.

  9. I am hoping that this question is not against the rules here.

I have a Buzz X5 128AX connected to a 500mbps fibre connection to my router with a 230mbps wifi reading in the room with buzz.

I am using a server that I have freezing and disconnect issues with.

My connection is a MAC server. They tried having me download IBO Pro player however Google Play Protect blocked the installation saying that it was unsafe.

In trying to get the operator to refresh my line I am being told that they have never heard of Buzz streaming boxes and that my Buzz X5 AX128 Is just not powerful enough to handle the strength of their server.  In addition they have indicated that I am the only person having these issues. (I know from looking on line this is not true).

They have recommended I purchase and use a Firestick.

Other than subbing to another service can anyone suggest what I might try.

what version do you currently have?

Not sure. However when I was checking to see why I could not find Nordvpn on the 4500 I was prompted to update You tube which updated, another program that updated and Aptoide, which came back saying it was a dangerous update. When I said ignore and load anyway it started then immediately went to update failed

You just download the latest apk directly from Nordvpn, put it on a usb stick and install it using appinstaller..

    https://nordvpn.com/download/android/

And there is a link saying "Download VPN APK here"

I did not check the aptoide on my box, but on the aptoide web site, there is no hit either for nordvpn.

    https://en.aptoide.com/search?query=nordvpn&type=apps

    Thank you Emporium.

  12. I have been told by the support staff of one of the servers I have that I am having freezing and lack of programs playing because my ISP (Bell) is blocking my feed.

They have recommended a VPN to deal with the issue.

I have read that VPN's have a tendency  to slow down internet speed and can cause latency issues.

    Any thoughts would be welcome.

  13. I have been using primary for live TV since I received my X5. It was the way the unit was setup at the factory

I  understand from reading in the forum that backup is the recommended setting. for live TV. and primary for Recording and Time shift.

I have not recorded any programs nor do I use time shift.

However every time I try to switch to backup rather than primary for live TV the picture shrinks down to about 1/8 of screen size and is situated in the top left hand corner of the screen.

Any suggestions on what to do to have the picture go to full size when I switch to backup.

  14. I was having some difficulty with frequent freezing and dropped programmes. I tried just about everything to get the signal to stabilize. It would be OK for awhile then start acting up again.

My setup is an X5 hard wired to a wireless Pod. I am running a Fibe 500 connection with 500 mbps download and 500 mbps upload capability. The speed at the POD varies between 200 and 250 mbps most of the time.

I decided to try connecting with wifi instead of a wired connection. Lo and behold it seems to have improved my connection tremendously. I get the odd freeze once and awhile however the  connection is much more stable.

Anyone have any idea why this would happen. I was always told that a wired connection is much more effective than a wireless connection.
