I finally found the cause in the settings on Youtube.TV's webpage I turned off the allow surrond sound and now all is well.

Thanks but it is not offering me any new updates. Maybe I should uninstall and re-install?

After the update my YoutubeTV.com app won't work properly. when you try to move a video ahead or back it skips all over the place and the sound stops being coordinated with the video. As far as I can tell it's only this app.
