  1. No thermal paste. For thermal paste to be of any use, you need a heatsink. Thermal paste or pads are only meant to allow/facilitate the heat transfer from the drive to a heatsink so it can be dissipated easier.
  2. So my understanding, you are wondering why there is no "buzztv SMART REMOTE" option ? Keep in mind the remotes are very different. The X5 and the Powerstation have "smart" remotes (BT400/BT500) which you program to your TV and all. The Classic uses the BT350 which is not a Smart remote by the same definition. You do pair it using Bluetooth, and other than the 4 IR learning buttons, there is no programming the remote to match your TV, etc.. I typically don't program my BT400/BT500 remotes to my TV anyhow, but some do. The BT350 does not have that option (and I personally prefer it that way). I prefer the BT100/200/250 and 350 remote layouts, over the BT400/BT500 remotes, but that is personal taste. Since you are not "programming/matching" the remote to your TV in the same fashion you really don't need that app on the Classic Anniv, hence why it is not included. That smart remote app is included typically on devices that ship with the BT400 or BT500 remote.
  3. With very few exceptions, firmware updates for remotes would typically go out at the same time as box firmware on the classic buzz boxes. Do you not have a "remote" app in the settings menu, or under Buzz Utilities ? where you can map your colored buttons and you can see remote firmware version, etc.. ? The new Gbox (with google remote) is the only buzz box where remote updates go out as standalone remote updates. Is there something not working with the BT350 anyhow, which you believe it needs a firmware update ?

    G Series Specs

This is the first Google box by Buzz. Typically Buzz handles both Firmware and app (BuzzTV 6) updates themselves, and they are pushed by OTA. On this device, the box firmware will be handled by Google. And BuzzTV 6 app will be updated through the play store, by Buzz themselves (like the release an update of any other app on the play store). BuzzTV 6 get's regular updates now on the PowerStation and L1 (via OTA). So I am sure it will get regular updates through the Play store also. To get an idea of how long it will be supported, BuzzTV 5, was introduced at end of 2020 I believe, and it is still getting regular updates today on all boxes. Frequency depends on a number of factors, including criticality of any bugs that may exist, time of year (summer vacations or holidays), etc.. Sometimes it is a few in a month, other times it can be a 2 or 3 months, but with a larger update at the end. Hope this helps.
  5. Since they are both XC, have you tried switching EPG source (menu->settings->configuration - and scroll down to EPG Source), to switch between xml and server epg, as mentioned by aab above ?
  6. I had that issue ages ago (back in Nov 2023 - On firmware: V20231104 and IPTV version: 5.0.906) when the box first came out and it's like the video subsystem has failed to initialize. Provided logs to buzz and it was determined that the issue was that for some reason HDCP was not being activated. Since then I changed TV & Cables and it hasn't happened since. I suspect that the TV was occasionally incorrectly reporting HDCP capabilities, or cable was causing the problem. I do have another box (xrs4900), which is connected to my really old Sharp Aquos and if I accidently turn the box on, before the TV is on, there is no video shown by the box, and I need to reboot it.
  7. Can you give us a summary ? For the benefit of anyone else who may eventually have an issue similar to what you described
  8. When in the TV screen, press the menu button, and it would be on the bottom left.. 5.0.xxx Oh, and do you have you have your box set for shutdown or suspend when you press power button ? ie: when you power up, do you see the buzz logo every time ?
  9. Can you provide some more info ? Classic, or Classic Anniversary ? What firmware version and what software version are you running on the box ?
  10. MAC or XC type connection ? I know that for MAC type connections there is a new version coming soon which includes "Fixed EPG Loading on MAC for Some Servers". Obviously it depends on the server however. For XC, I have not had an issue (at least with the 2 servers I mainly use - and you know one of the servers at least ). Maybe something has glitched ? I'm assuming you went into menu and "cleared EPG" to force a reset ? Try changing EPG source (server vs xml) ? Is it just in "guide" view or even in channel list view (where you see what's playing and a few more) ? backup, clear storage on buzztv 6 app and then restore maybe ?
  11. I have always formatted it on a Windows PC as exFAT. But I do believe formatting on the box would also be exFAT in the latest version of Android on buzz boxes. But you if you format on box, make sure to format as "portable storage" not "internal storage". Internal Storage (aka adopted storage) was a nice concept ages ago, but when it fails, it pretty much forces you to reformat the media box, instead or just losing your recordings. Also, while you have it on the PC, check on the WD web site to see if they have (or need) any firmware updates. It's obviously easier to do on a PC, instead of once it is installed on an android box.
  12. Sorry, but what is you XI server ? An IPTV service ? Is it using MAC/XC or M3U ? Can you connect to this service using another device ? When you say it doesn't connect, can you elaborate ? What message do you get ?

    Server Error

No need to open another thread.. You could have just answered the questions that were asked in your previous thread from a few days ago. You posted, but never replied to the questions. Can't help if you don't reply. https://stbtalk.com/topic/14873-server-error/#comment-41251
  14. When you say they "went down", what exactly do you get ? Does it hang at some point, do you get some message, does it load up but all streams are black ? You need to elaborate. What type of subscription do you have ? MAC, XC or M3U ?
  15. Have you tried installing any iptv software on your phone or tablet and try to connect to your server, just to see if it is box specific or maybe your internet ? As a quick test maybe see if you switch to phone data and see if it works. You can possibly as a quick test put your phone in hotspot mode, connect to it and see if it connects. Did you try rebooting your modem/router ? Don't know where you are located but I know some modems (like Xfinity gateways) have Advanced Security is turned on by default, which you sometimes need to disable. I know this one is obvious, but did you check to make sure your account is not expired ? I always forget on mine, and to not admit guilt, I tell the wife it was a server issue.. lol
