  1. Thanks I sent the request in to Allabout. Can anyone confirm the embedded Primary Player is part of the Firmware and the Backup Player is the VLC ? I was going to try another Player and want to make sure what is used when.
  2. Thank you NBS ! How can I obtain the Beta Download for Buzz boxes ? Still having issues with the built in Player using another Provider.
  3. Thank you all for the feedback and taking the time to test. Can someone PM me to suggest a new iptv service provider ? thanks
  4. Well 5 days have passed, no firmware received from Buzz even though I was advised that there would be. Newsmax and other channels are back to square one again, they do not work when your Buzz unit is set to Primary Video Player. Note: after evaluation of other boxes, Dreamlink, Matricom, Formula Z11 all work on their primary video player indicating that Buzz has an issue. Any help here would be great. Verify yourself that only the Buzz units have the issues.
  5. Seems the Provider is working on the Format issue now. The channels in question before causing the error message has now disappeared and those channels are unavailable completely.
  6. update: Received an email from Buzz Tech Support that they will be sending me a Player Firmware update . I am awaiting.
  7. Thanks for the feedback, my 4900 unit has same 5.0.799 so at this point I will contact BuzzTV techs and see what they suggest, I do want to say also that when trying to watch VOD movies using the Primary Player, the same error message appears " Media format not Supported" . Switching to "Backup" Player for the VOD,s correct the issue. So now i'm curious if your unit is also using Backup Player for VOD movies or is the Primary setting working.
  8. Running the latest firmware, its labeled "Backup" not Secondary. Where are the recommended settings listed for the units as Auto-Frame Rate, HDR Policy, Exact Refresh Rates, all the advanced settings ?
  9. Maybe Using the Secondary Video Player option opens the link for these channels however. I do not see any complaints on the Forums "List issues your having with channels" indicating an issue on my 2 boxes or a setting. Trying to get someone to try these channels on their unit using the same iptv link.
  10. Unlinked MAC & ISP Lock, installed ipvanish, did help for sure. There are still some Starz channels mimicking the same issue but they have always been like this. Since this is a new issue I would assume its a provider issue. It is easy to attack any outgoing web access to a .ru Russia controlled interface, so I am to assume the provider has started this.
  11. thank you, I disabled Timeshift and it corrected that error, but the channel will not load with the error " media format not supported" same issue on my U5, same exact thing if you have a Buzz, try channels ABC Baltimore or ABC Las Vegas using the Primary Player supplied
  12. Using the provided Primary Player selection results in some channels not to load, some local channel links as in ABC Baltimore. Error comes up "Timeshift Error Media Not Supported" If you select the Backup Player selection, the error goes away and you can view those channels now, however another issue developed on this Player option which is an Audio Loss intermitting if the stream pauses for a second or during a fast action video event the audio disappears, video stays. If you change channels and come back, the audio is restored. Same issue with my U5 too. Firmware 2.220914 connected direct to router via cat5
  13. After about 5-10 minutes some channels will freeze then restart, others will throw an error "stream unavailable" then start again. Same issue on multiple servers and multiple boxes. It also happens on my XRS4900. Tried using MAC Server, Lock ISP, now removed all links. What happened to the Buzz Technical Forum managed by them ?
  14. Can not watch any video after downloaded from the Amazon Prime App on the box. Nor, can I watch any paid Rental that was done on my smartphone then try to watch on the Buzz within the Amazon Prime App. Error message comes up.

Need more testing and answers. Johnny has not responded to this thread since last Monday, and we do not know if there were any router settings performed based on what the post says. And a router can block a MAC during specific hours, I did not say the ISP was blocking the mac. Maybe the issue is resolved now ?

Parental Controls could also effect service. Since I am not at the router its impossible to verify, easier to test on another system to see if its the mac address blocked or the users setup.

Not. Default setting, but who knows what settings are in the router. Anything that is actually timed out is a setting somewhere. I do not believe the ISP provider would take the time to set a clock on a block. More details are needed, it would be nice to know if that box does the same issue on another setup.

If they are using a gaming router, there are schedules in setup that control bandwidth, restrict certain ip address, and territories of countries based on a Geo Map.

Johnny, if the VPN does not correct the issue take the box to neighbors house at 8-10pm and check it on their router to verify its not a setting in your system somewhere.
  20. Bug Found in this situation. My issues were two fold. The prior model Box 4500, I tried in Florida using an ISP provider Modem/Router resulted in no VOD or TV Series streaming from any URL mp4 access supplied by the paid server. That box was brought to another state, tried on another ISP using an ISP Modem and my Netgear Router, same issue as above. This 4500 was firmware updated by the automatic search function within the box. I returned it because it failed to work in two different states on two different ISPs and firmware was updated within the hardware by a search feature built in. Dreamlinks in both states worked fine with VOD, indicating no issue with the ISP or box settings. Next I purchased the XRS4900, configured it, connected it to my own Netgear Router, and again no VOD or TV-Series streaming. Then my voyage began by asking for help in two forums. People in both forums tried to help with no results. I then went to Buzz Forum for the support, opened a service ticket, discussed the issue with their team member and was told that the firmware version I was using was not the most current even though the automatic update search function within the box said it was up to date. Then I also tried to locate any Beta version by entering a code after allowing the box to search, no Beta available it said. I was then told that my issue should be resolved by listing the box mac address with them to get another update, indicating there were others having VOD issues also. The mac address of the box had to be given to Buzz in order to receive the latest update. Within minutes I received the update. This new update did not resolve the issue at hand. This was because I also had a Router issue when using only this Buzz Box. I took the box loaded with the forced update to a neighbors house, it worked on VOD indicating now I had another issue. Since I was using my own router connected to the ISP Modem I was able to isolate the issue by disconnecting my Router, connected the Buzz4900 directly to the Modem, the VOD was restored, indicating a Router issue. Keep in mind this same router was allowing access to all VOD streams for all 3 Dreamlink T3 boxes. This led me to the fourth Forum, Netgear. An engineer directed me to stop the QoS "Quality of Service" program running within the Netgear Router. VOD was restored, indicating a conflict only between the 4900 Buzz unit and my router. Most of the Nighthawk series Netgear routers use a QoS program to allow bandwidth allocation to internet Game routes. I had no settings or activated game routes in this mode. None. They are still working on a solution to allow QoS feature on, but for now I leave it off and the Buzz4900 is working on VOD & TV-Series. My concerns are these new boxes are not coming with pre-loaded with up to date Firmware. Then when you tell the box to check for updates, and none are found, you would assume everything is ok. Or, you receive an update and you think its up to date. It is not! Buzz has created havic for purchasers that need to know if their box is running the latest version. I even went to their site and downloaded from their current Support the latest version on line and manually installed it with a jump drive as a test. That update 5.0.653 was not even available as an automatic searched download from within the box app. Then after registration of the mac address to Buzz I received version 5.0.727 which later updated on its own to 5.0.729. This whole scenario is a problem, this company does not have all their mac addresses on file to send automatic updates. May I suggest to all Moderators who handle complaints within their Forums > Have everyone send a message to Buzz informing them of the mac address, and to add it to their pool, so that automatic updates can be received correctly. Just because they receive an update, that does not mean its the latest, I have proven that. This will prevent any complications down the road.
  21. Latest update, forced a firmware update to the 4900 box and now the box will play VOD on a friends ISP but still will not play on mine. His system consists of a combo modem/router as most people are using. My system consists of an ISP Modem and my own Netgear Router bridged to the modem. In my case there are several complaints found where streaming VOD is an issue on the NetGear bridged router configuration due to the firmware written by the manufacturer of the streaming box. So the new BuzzTV4900 will not play VOD or TV-Series connected to my NetGear Router, however!, all 3 of my Dreamlinks connected to the same router config play perfect VOD. This is a rare situation where the end user is using his own bridged router system and the streaming media box can not play VOD. Proven that the ISP is not the issue, I plugged the BuZZ Box directly into the ISP Modem disconnected my Router and the Buzz played the VOD streams from the Server. This points back to the Netgear Router-and-Buzz Box incompatibility. One of the Software systems is locking out the VOD streaming. At this point, I will have to try another Router!
  22. Thank you NBS, I am very familiar with this situation. My question should be rephrased: Have you checked VOD on those players when the Server setting of Country Lock is set to US ?? If so, could you post the settings used on the box please? Player Stream Format Buzz Version 5.0.727 or later installed Buffer Time Auto Frame Rate Server setting XC API, MAC, M3U? System Kernel Version located in "About" Software Build info located in "About" As you can see, I am still trying to locate the issue here.
  23. Thank you NBS, is your 8 new units locked to Country United States ?
  24. Steve , I am reading your 4500 VOD is working , is your 4500 a new box ?
  25. Latest update did not correct issue. Time to take the box to another state and try on another ISP provider to rule out any router issue, firewall, or the ISP. Will give updates on results. Next, is there anyone reading this that can try a new 4900 box using latest firmware applied from Buzz. by sending in your mac address to them for the update, AND use a Server that is defaulted United States region ? If your VOD movies play, please notify what settings you are using on the server and box, which Media Player you are selecting, what Stream setting you are using TS or M3U8, and if you are using a VPN. If you have playback issues, please give the description of the issue. thank you !
