Remote batteries

My bt-4000 remote eats batteries.  My usuage is light but batteries last less than a week. I don’t use back light. I use ir as I can’t get a bt connection.

when you go to  buzz utilities,remote and accessories and click on bt100 does it ask you to pair?

It says pairing but then says couldn’t pair. I have tried many times.
