Help! XPL3000 stuck on boot screen logo, keeps looping on logo

Hi, i have the buzztv xpl3000. The system keeps looping on logo screen for 3-4 times and then black screen forever. I tried doing the hard reset but the system doesn't respond at all, the logo keeping looping on the screen while I'm pressing the reset button. isn't there a process where I can connect it to my pc and reset it?

To do a hard reset, you need to unplug the unit, press the reset button gently until you hear it click, and as you are pressing and holding the reset button, you need to plug the power. 

Here is a small video I found which shows you what you need to do.  It is for a newer model, but the process is the same.
