sea157 Posted December 16, 2025 Posted December 16, 2025 My BT350 remote will not program with my Insignia Fire TV remote. I hold down the tv and source button on my Bt350 remote and get the solid red light. I push the volume up button on my BT350 and get the blinking red light. I point the two remotes together within 1" or less between them. I hold down on the volume up button on my Fire TV remote but never receive a solid red light on the BT350 to indicate it was programed. Am I doing something wrong? Quote
Emporium Posted December 16, 2025 Posted December 16, 2025 FireTV remotes are often hybrid remotes. They use IR for "some" functions, yet they use Bluetooth for other functions. Are you sure that the insignia remote is even outputting an IR signal for the function you want ? Trying using the camera of your cell phone pointed to the front of your FireTV remote and see if the LED blinks when you press the button you are trying to learn. Also doesn't help that insignia is known for not following standards or even even using a codes that they have not reserved. So not even sure if they are using standard frequency (38kHz). As a test, have you tried it with some other remote (another TV, or maybe a dvd/bd player) ? If programming does not work, another option for you would be to change your buzz box to disable "max volume" and that way the main volume buttons on the b350 would allow the buzz box to output a variable audio level. So you can then set your TV volume to something like 60% or 70%, and then the buzz box would output a variable level and when it is at max, it would represent the level you set on your TV. 1 Quote
sea157 Posted December 16, 2025 Author Posted December 16, 2025 Emporium you are the BEST!! Ok what I found out. When I checked the volume buttons with my camera (as you suggested) they were not putting a signal out. I found out this remote goes to sleep after some time, and the only way it wakes it up again is if you hit the power button that turns the TV on. Once the remote is awaken and only then, will it send a signal from the other buttons on the remote. Once I found this out it was very easy to program the BT350 to use the other buttons from the Insignia Fire TV remote. Buy the way I did have it setup as you suggested ( If programming does not work, another option for you would be to change your buzz box to disable "max volume" and that way the main volume buttons on the b350 would allow the buzz box to output a variable audio level. So you can then set your TV volume to something like 60% or 70%, and then the buzz box would output a variable level and when it is at max, it would represent the level you set on your TV.) I just wanted a way I could also control the TV volume just in case I would for some reason need to raise or lower the TV volume. Thank you once again for your superb help Emporium, I can ALWAYS depend on you!! 2 Quote
