slator Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Fully updated B5, tried an 1 terabyte ssd, a 64 gig jump drive, all formatted by the B5. Live TV won't timeshift, and freezes after a few mins and flashes "timeshift error stream not available". Only had the box about a month, time shift worked great first 2 weeks, now not at all. Live TV works flawlessly with timeshift off. Checked the forum here, tried all the recommended fixes, but still no luck. Quote
dishuser Posted February 5 Posted February 5 how long are you on the channel before you press rewind? Quote
slator Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 I don't get a chance to rewind, the stream freezes the error pops up, and the stream becomes unwatchable as it freezes over and over again followed by the error. Eventually, it may start to stream normally, but if we try to rewind(after20+ minutes of continuous play) it jumps back a few seconds and that's it, then we get the error and more freezing. If we pause, it will pause but when we resume it plays for a few seconds and jumps to the current time. Quote
Emporium Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Keep in mind that the B5 does NOT have a USB3 port, they are all USB2. It is the entry level 5 series and there were choices that needed to be made obviously. So if bitrate (and any overhead) is too high, it may fail to keep up and timeshift can cause issues. I don't know what speeds the MicroSD can hit on this device, but you "MAY" have better luck by using a high endurance microSD card. Quote
slator Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 Yes, I know that the B5 is more entry level, we just wanted to test the service and the equipment before we make a bigger commitment. I am new to the IPTV thing, but have no problem stepping up to the latest and greatest that Buzztv has to offer. I am getting the service thru a good friend, that owns an ISP, so I am paying nothing for the service and have unlimited connections. I am suspicious that I have some settings not correct as it worked perfectly for a few weeks, before this problem. I did try a factory reset with no luck. I will try a high endurance microSD card, and report back. Thanks to all for the input, I appreciate it. 1 Quote
