    Ok got it to work by putting in a url for the epg. It says it's optional but it wont work for me without one.

    Yes thats right, it was working until I applied the update.

    The connection to the server fails stating that it was unreadable. I removed the m3u setting and reentered and still not working. I've confirmed that the url was still good on another box. The XR4000 is connected to the ethernet. I switched to WIFI and still no luck. There goes xmas!
