I'm using suspend because if I try to do a full power off, the box turns back on by itself and won't stay shut off. This started after the June update and they've said it would be fixed. The only way to shut it totally off is to unplug it which is my complaint. I was told to be patient. Because of this issue I won't buy another Buzz product.

I don't think you understand what I'm saying. I know the Buzz box won't do a firmware update until I turn it on. The box won't shut off. The only way I can shut it off is to unplug it. When I leave it plugged into power, I put it to suspend as you say. When I unplug the external drive to copy a new movie to the drive and then reconnect that drive to the suspended box it won't recognize any new files that have been added to the external drive until I unplug the box and re-power it. Before the June update the box would shut off without unplugging it and any new files added to the portable drive would be recognized but not now if it's put to suspend.

I don't expect it to update the firmware just the directory on the external drive that I attach to view downloaded movies. When I copy a movie from my pc to the external drive and then plug the drive back in to the Buzz box, the movie won't show in the directory until I depower the box completely, so if it is on standby it won't show any new files that have been added to the drive.

Buzz keeps coming out with new boxes when there's still problems with recent ones that need fixes. Promises made to fix the shutdown problem never kept. I use my XRS 4000 for movies that have been downloaded. With the box on standby, it won't update the file directory on the external usb drive so I still have to unplug the power supply to get it to update. What a annoyance. I was given a recommended replacement for Buzz boxes that seems promising. I know the Buzz support just isn't acceptable.

Don't hold your breath. They've been promising a fix since the last update. It'll be the last Buzz product I'll buy.

How long to we have to be patient? I would think Buzz would want to repair this before people start considering alternative boxes. I was pleased with my first Buzz box XPL3000 so I bought the XRS4000 but I think I'd have to reconsider getting any other Buzz products due to this issue. We've been told the fix will be released long ago and 5 months have transpired since the last update. I hate complaining but this is a real annoyance.

Is this going to be fixed anytime soon? So frustrating to have to keep unplugging the box since the June update. How do you get the beta version? I'd be willing to try it.

Thanks for the update. Happy to hear it's being addressed.

Is there any update on when this will be fixed. Having to unplug the XRS4000 after every use is really a pain. It worked fine before the June update. Would be nice to see it fixed .... just saying.

I contacted BuzzTV and explained my problem. Their reply was the remote is only warrantied for 3 months. I purchased mine in November so I'm SOL.

I have the same problem with my Buzz XRS4000. Have to press the buttons several times to get it to work. I also have a Buzz XPL3000 that came with 2 remotes, so I took the spare and tried it and it works like a charm on the XRS4000. Proves there's a problem with XRS4000 remote I'd say.
