My mom uses a B5. It is a little on the slower side but it works. To make her life simpler, I download the M3U file for her account, edited it myself to remove channels she does not watch and to put it in the order she prefers, and I uploaded the file to my pastebin account and set her box to download the M3U file directly from there. She does not watch any VOD/TV Series and the few times she has wanted a VOD movie, I have simply taken the link from the M3U file from her account, added another channel at the end with a link to the VOD file and she just reboots the box, and it refreshes and she has the movie as a channel
And all she needs to do is +/- through the channels. She has no concept of EPG layouts, etc...
You can also just hide all the categories she does not watch, put all her favorites in a favorites category and order them the way you want. I just did it my way because my mom a few times found herself in one of her category and even with a "favorites" button on the remote, I eventually gave up and went over to put it back to the favorites category. She just wants to press CH+/CH- to go through her dozen or so channels.
For Pure IPTV the B5 is fine. But I will probably shortly swap her box with the E5, which I find is a lot smoother overall.
Thanks again!
Of topic maybe but what m3u editor are you using. I opened my m3u's in notepad++ and wow.

Thanks guys! I appreciate your feedback, maybe the E5 is a better way to go. The L1 with 30 plus updates, which is good wouldn't work as she is not that close to us and has no technical skills even the guide is too much for her.

I need a simple IPTV box for my 90 year old mother in-law she only watches a few channels. I have a BuzzTV XR4500 and a BuzzTV X5 C and love them both I have recommended them to others. I wonder if the B5 would be a good choice for her to just watch IPTV at $99.99 Canadian it seems like a pretty good deal and the IR 100 is good I don't use my BuzzTV BT400 it's in a drawer. I also don’t want to use a third party app for her to watch IPTV, to confusing so that narrows it down and BuzzTV 5 is so easy to use and a great interface.
Anyone have any feedback on this box?

Thanks again!
I received my new BT 200 today and it works great on the X5 C, I like it. It took 3 tries to get it paired, It seems to have better range than the BT 100.

When I set a reminder or record on a channel say sports then my guide changes to the sports category. I reset to all and close it reopen the guide and it is set to sports again until the reminder or recording is done.
Is there a way to keep the guide on all?

I still miss the PIP on the home screen it doesn't seem like an upgrade to me with the newer android version but like I said I am not a techie?

I also have a ARQ100-Remote can this be used with IR on this box?

I reprogrammed the Harmony to use the box volume and it works great even the mute button is working thanks again it is working with the BT-400 as well. I wonder why the mute button was removed on the 400 remote?

I use the BT200 with one of my X5 units and a BT250 on the other. I prefer those remotes to the bt300/400 remotes.
But when you say that it does not control the volume, what does the volume control when you use the BT300/400 remote you got ?
From the sound of it, you want the box to output a variable volume, and you want to leave your TV at one position (ie: something like 60% volume). That is what I do. You will need to disable one option, if I recall it is under settings->buzz tv utilities->volume control and there is a setting for FORCE MAX VOLUME. Disable that, and your remote should then control the volume output of the box itself. You may also need to disable the CEC settings under settings->hdmi or display option.
If you had tried to program the remote to control your TV, you may need to factory reset the remote also.
Hold the D-Pad Down button and the 0 (Zero) button for 4 seconds until it blinks 3 times to factory reset the remote.
Oh my god thank you so much the volume is working. I still have my TV volume off but the remote is controlling the box volume even in KODI. I love my new box, the remote not so much.

The extra button I can deal with the D pad or what ever it is called is my problem my thumb covers the whole pad I have to use my thumbnail and look what I'm pressing to use it and it looks the same size on the BT200. The BT-500 looks like it has a bigger pad? I only need it for the home button right now but if my Harmony finally dies knock on wood it would make it easier to deal with the so called android updates.

Thanks for your reply!
When I look up the BT-200 it is listed to work with these boxes will it work with the X5 128 AX-C?

BuzzTV XRS4500 Set Top Box
BuzzTV XRS4900 Set Top Box

I have been using a BuzzTV XR4500 and love it, I grabbed a BuzzTV X5 128 AX-C for more internal space. The box is nice, it's fast and has BUZZTV 5 that has always worked great for me, adding Kodi with all my locale libraries was a breeze and went much faster than the on old box and I still have has loads of space for all the artwork or anything I want.
But The BT-400 remote is too small (my 9 year old granddaughter likes it lol) it has no mute or stop button and I can only control the TV volume. I don't think I have used the volume on my TV more than a couple times since I bought it. Thankfully I have a Harmony Companion I am using to control the box and I switched the Harmony to control my AV receiver volume instead of the box volume as with the XR4500 android 9. I thought all android devices have volume built in it seems like a step backwards with the newer android to me? Oh ya and no PIP on the home page anymore again seems like a step backwards with the newer android to me but I am not a techie?
I wonder will the BT-500 work with this box it looks like a better option. -
Thanks for your reply, yes pip window on home screen. I noticed no hesitation going from home back to TV I'm just used to having the pip there.
-
I have a BuzzTV XR4500 and on my home screen I have a video preview at the top right of the playing video. I just got my friend to buy a buzz box he decided on the X5 c 128 how do I get the video preview window to show on the home screen with this box I don't remember how I did this on my box.

I have a BuzzTV XR4500 and I only use it for IPTV and Kodi for local network files. Wow I could not spend $499 for an upgrade?
-
I use a Logitech Harmony Companion (hub) with my BuzzTV XR4500 it works well.
I only use the original remote for the home button.

Thank you very much.
I guess I should have tried the menu button before posting don't use it much.

I have set recordings for two daily shows Monday to Friday by pushing the record button while the show is on and editing the days and times.
My sever runs a bit long on shows about three minutes and I am missing the end of the shows.
Is there a way to edit these scheduled recording times or to remove and redo these daily scheduled recordings?
I have an XR4500 running BuzzTV 5.
Any help would be appreciated. -
I had this problem with BuzzTV 4 if I started the recording on a show that already started. If i scheduled a full recording I could fast forward.
Not sure if this is true with BuzzTV 5 I have only done scheduled recordings and they are working as expected.

It's too bad my XR4500 is so darn reliable or I'd be buying one of those Android 11 boxes . LOL
