I forgot to bring it with me today. I will try my spare router tomorrow. The funny thing is that his router works fine here with my XRS 4000, he has the XRS 4500. I am going to bring one of his boxes here and hook it to his router here. The wi-fi work at his place and he could watch Netflix from his TV but the Buzz boxes would not work there on his router. I have a different brand of modem then he does but it is with the same isp.

I will try that though. Thank you.

They are using the same isp.

The router is a D-Link Eagle Pro AI R18

Also the wi-fi worked.

This morning I did a hard reset on the two XRS4500 boxes here at my home, they worked fine. This afternoon I connected the one of the XRS4500 Boxes to the router after rebooting the modem and my friends router and the box gave me the same error message. I connected directly to the modem one at a time and both boxes worked fine. So I brought the router here and connected it to my modem and plugged in my XRS4000 box to the router and my box works fine. My next thought is to reset the router and take it back to my friends house and try it again. The router is a D-Link R18 router. Any thoughts about this issue? Your opinions and answers are very much appreciated.

Not saying it is the Dlink stuff, but just don't discount it. They are not what they used to be. And the fact that they release 1 maybe 2 firmware upgrades in the lifetime of a product (compared to ASUS who releases one every 3 months), doesn't say much for their product support. And it is easy to overlook something which should technically work and other stuff seems to work.
If you have a spare old router, it might be worth bringing with you, just in case all other tests fail.
I do have another spare old router. I will bring it. Thank you.

I used a few dlink models before and had no issues also with my boxes. I will check things out tomorrow if I feel better and I have suggested the fix of rebooting the modem and rotor and adding in one box at a time after the modem and rotor os rebooted. Thank you for now.

Okay, thank you. I will have to go over and try that when I am feeling better. Hopefully tomorrow I can do that.

but if they were worked at your house and they did not change anything on boxes then it has to be their isp or connectivity.
I am not feeling well so I cannot go their place myself to check out their connectivity. But they did indicated that they were using wifi on their phone and tablet.

Sorry about posting the portals and specific services, was not sure if I should have done that in the beginning but just wanted to supply all the info to try and resolve their problem. They have a d-link router but they do not have a d-link switch, no switch at all.
Are you talking about downloading iptv smarters flex player from the Play Store?

First of all, posting actual portals or naming specific services is a no,no...
Can you have them try with some other software just as a test, like "smarters" ? Just to see if it is a home networking issue ?
If the account is confirmed active, and all modem/router rebooted, it can still be an ISP block (which VPN could help). Have they tried on thier home network to use thier phone and install smarters (available both on Android and from Apple store), and try to connect ? If they get error on thier phone also, they can stop assuming it is a box issue, and concentrate on their network.
One issue I had a while back (and a friend had recently) was a bad Dlink switch. Yes, friends should not let friends buy dlink junk (they are not what they used to be 20+yrs ago). the switch had failed and it was affecting NOT only the stuff connected to it, but pretty much everything. Disconnected the Dlink switch and all worked like a charm.

I would say no. But they brought the boxes here and I just connected them to my televisions and my network cables and they worked fine.
-
The boxes were both working fine here when I connected them to my tv's and to my internet.
-
Okay I will have them do that. They are not at home right now and will instruct them to do that when they are home. Will post a reply to this as soon as they get home. When you are talking about the server side are you talking about the person supplying the IPTV subscription?
-
I had them do that once and they said it did the same. I will ask them to do it again.
-
Yes, it is the same internet service provider, and I forgot to mention that the boxes are on XC API Login.
-
Forgot to mention that both boxes were hooked up at my home and they work fine.

I have a friend with two XRS 4500 boxes hooked on the same home network. One is hardwired and one is on wi-fi, they were both working fine. Now they are showing this message, "Cannot load portal: cannot load to ragnarokserve.com/204.188.244.42 (port 847) from /192.168.0.217 (port 57174) after 10000 ms. Help please.

VOD
in The Classic
Hello,
I have a new Buzz TV Classic box. I set the box up and it did all the updates. When I try and watch a movie on VOD I get this message, "Unknown Stream Error", the movies will not play. It seems when the Buzz box does the final update then the problem is created. I have reset the box twice and still have this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Many ISP will buy or lease IP segments from various other owners as they run out of IPs. However the geolocation DBs can take a while to update. I have one buddy of mine who also buys an iptv service from me, and a few months ago, I noticed that when I check my panel, that he was connected from some IP that the panel claimed was in Cleveland, and Cogent as his ISP (and I know he is from one from the Montreal suburbs). I thought, that was odd, but figured he was either on vacation, or using some VPN. When it continued for a while, I texted him to ask (just to make sure his account was not compromised), but he was not on vacation and not using VPN on any of his boxes, but it was him connected from home. Quick check on various geolocation DBs, shows that some DB had the IP listed as belonging to his ISP, and others had it listed with Cogent. But as the weeks went by, more and more of the geolocation DBs source now say that the IP belongs to his ISP (and at least in canada in the general vicinity). So I guess the IPs transferred owner (or leased) but took a while to propagate.
My panel still shows him in Cleveland, but I assume the panel is using some static copy of the DB, so not doing any sort of dynamic query. So unless the panel updates the DB (I have advised them), it will continue to be incorrectly reported.
If you just care for the location shown on the home screen (ie: weather), I don't know what city you are in, but you can even use a free "windscribe" vpn account, and assuming you are in some large city which they have a free server in, you can connect to the VPN server, let the box detect the location, and then I believe you have the option to "lock" the location in the new buzztv5. Once locked, you can disable the VPN if you want. There is also protonvpn which offers a free vpn client> Both Free option have a limited number of servers available to "free" users.
Thank you. I was thinking that was the case.
-
It did detect my proper location until probably 2 or 3 weeks ago. Then I seen that it had changed to the city where my ISP is located. What would you recommend for a VPN.
-
My location is incorrect on my Buzzbox. I have tried to fix it and have had no success. I am hard wired to my internet. Any ideas on how to fix that? I checked in the settings menu and cannot seem to change it. Thank you.
