I do not think this is a hardware problem with my box but I'm desperate for a solution and you guys all seem pretty darn smart.

My new IPTV service called instaplay was supposed to be an improvement over Dexter unfortunately I've had nothing but grief and a tech support guy can't seem to help me. He made a whole bunch of suggestions which I followed and I still have buffering.

Here is what I've done on my end for improve performance.

Switch from Dexter to instaplay

Switch from firestick to the buzztv xrs 4500

Upgraded my internet from 100mbps to 200 Mbps

I have tried wiring my modem straight to the Box bypassing the router and Wireless

I have tried with VPN on and off

I have even tried using my cell phone hotspot just to see if I was being throttled.

The only thing that I have not done yet and will do so by the end of the week is I'm replacing my modem for the new fancy one.

The guy who has been helping me with instaplay claims that he has no problems and it's just me.

I am not sure what to think and there's not much left that I can do any thoughts anyone? I'm really desperate to get this fixed

I hope its something on my end and not the service. They tell me that I am the only customer having these problems.

I just dont want to give up on them. I think the guy helping me is running out of ideas.

Can someone recommend a different service or server that I could try as a test?

There is nothing that I have not tried except switching from xfinity and that's not possible plus i'm getting fast speeds from them.

I even tried going back to my firestick (I have an app for instaplay) and it was different but still junk.

Am I just to picky?

its not terrible on every channel.  half of the movie channels only loop or buffer once every 5 mins

the rest range from every 30 seconds to perma loop. I saw this one fight scene that played over and over for 15 mins. (I gave up after that and surfed the web)

Dishuser, what service are you using if you dont mind me asking. I would not mind paying for a month just to see if its me or them

services can't be discussed here but if it's looping it's a crap server

Well, darn. I was hoping it was me and not them. Wonder why they said Im the only one having problems.

Could someone recommend where I might go to research a better service? google is finding up lots of paid endorsements.

If that violates this forum please disregard my question.

Turns out I tried a different server that was supposed to be free of looping and lag. No change.

the weird thing is it was not every channel. two of them were really bad. lag ever 15 seconds. some not so bad and some no problems.

Also, it may possibly be worse during prime time. between 5 and 8 the lag seems worse. Again, I would like to point out that anality or what ever its called shows my download speed above 150 Mbps while I am having problems.

I have a new modem and a wireless booster showing up as well as a replacement Buzztv box.

If it still does this after everything I have tried it will have to be Comcast finding a way to jam me up yet still providing fast internet.

I will recap what I have done and what I am doing next;

I started with a firestick and VPN with a 100 Mbps plan and wireless router and using Dexter IPTV.

Tried with the VPN on and off no difference. Download speed between 70-100 Mbps with the vpn off, and 30-40 Mbps with VPN on.

Switched IPTV service to instaplay did not help but the quality looked better.

That provider suggested I loose the firestick for a BuzzTV XRS 4500 so I did. it did not help.

Upgraded my Comcast from 100 Mbps to the 200 Mbps plan. now Im getting 150-180 with VPN off and still 40 on. No change still lots of buffering.

Did a trial for a new VPN it did not help either speed or buffering.

Was suggested I wire the modem straight to the BuzzTV box, did not help much.

Instaplay said only I was having problems and even sent me a video of the same channel playing with no buffering.

It was suggested here on STB to try a different server and I did use the one recommended with no improvement. lots of buffering on a few channels.

My next steps starting tomorrow.

A new modem and new wireless repeater.

if it still does it then the only thing I have not changed is Comcast other than to upgrade the speed.

I dont know if they have found a way to throttle me without dropping my speed test scores (and getting past my PVN with scramble turned on)

If I had to guess I would say its my internet or modem. some of my speed tests give great scores but are not smooth. that could be a modem thing or Comcast I guess.
