Thanks for the reply.   I currently have a  SSD on board. I only use the external Hdd to move files from the SSD.  It's less than 1 year old & works fine on my PC. 

Chat bot referred me to here for official tech support ?   My USB powered  2tb hdd is  beeping and not recognized at times . Working fine almost a year since I purchased the XPL3900.  HDD is recognized on windows PC & can access files.  Submitted RMA form & no response.
