Hi everyone. Where would I see a difference between this box and the base b5 box? Would I see an improvement in speed/stability in the TV guide? Would I see a difference between in the VOD area? On my b5 I have to refresh the lists a lot and there are issues in the saved series. So not sure if it is the box or the service. Any other ways I would see a difference between the boxes?

VOD. Turns out I wasn't highlighting the search box before trying to enter the letters. DOH! Customer Service pointed me that goof I was making!

Mouse wasn’t active when trying to use the keyboard. 

@dishuser thank you for responding. Yes. I have tried new batteries, repaired the dongle again. I have managed to get the front keys all working but still no hope for the actual keyboard. The four cursor buttons on the keyboard side work, along with the fcn button lighting up when pressed, but makes no difference in being able to enter letters pressed on the keyboard appearing in the search box. Ugh. 

Hi there. I just bought this remote ARQ-100. At first it wasn’t being recognized by the B5. After a few hours of not using it, it is working BUT the keyboard in the back doesn’t work, just the 4 cursor keys. On the front most work, but can’t seem to pair the power key for the TV and the Favs button doesn’t goto favorites. Any thoughts?  I bought this remote for the keyboard. lol. Thank you for any suggestions.

I do not have an ARQ100, all i have is an ARQ200 and even though I have not tested it with the B5 (and at the moment I can't since I've given it to my mom for her trip down south), I have tested it with the E5 and had no problems.    When you say you "paired" it to the USB dongle, what do you mean ?  There is no pairing required.  You just plug the USB dongle into your B5 and it should automatically work.  The only thing if I recall, is that to power ON the device, it still uses IR.  But otherwise the rest should be via RF between the remote and the USB dongle plugged into the box.

If I knew you'd order from amazon, I would have gladly checked what was available.  The BT200 is not available on amazon (only from byzztv global online site), but you could have gotten the next best one, which is the BT250.  Below is a link to the BT250, it is the BuzzTV BT250 remote just with the SARO logo.  But it is identical.

So funny enough. I left it for a few hours and now it seems to work. But the alphabet on the back doesn’t work. The four cursor buttons do. But it won’t recognize typing on the keyboard. Any thoughts anyone?

Hi @Emporium  tech support said I could use the ARQ 100. Only One I could find on Amazon. Lol. Anyways. I bought. Have paired it to the usb dongle but my B5 box will only go into stand by from arq remote. . None of the other functions on the entire remote seem to work?? Any thoughts??? As to why it wouldn’t work? 

Hi everyone. Can I buy the Bt-400 remote to use with my B5?? I really hate the IR line of sight remote.

So considering you don't seem to know much about the subscriptions on your box, I assume someone sold you this box with subscriptions already installed.  Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Buzz does NOT sell IPTV subscriptions.  Their boxes are just the hardware and software needed to use IPTV, but you typically need to buy a subscription separately.  So the quality of the programming is dependant on the iptv service/subscription that you have "purchased".  

When you say favorties, are you referring to favorite channels for LiveTV, or are you referring to favorties under VOD/TV Series section ?

Under LiveTV, when you go through the channels, when you find one that you like, you can hit the yellow button, and it adds it to your favorites (the button function is often listed at the bottom of the OSD).  Then everything you have tagged will show up under the "Favorites" category, so you don't need to go through thousands of channels all the time.  Similar principal exists for VOD and TV Series.

Anyhow, like I said before, if you need more help with the B5, feel free top start a new thread under the B5 section and you can ask the questions you want.  

It is the favorites for the tv shows, not the channels. I will check out the other thread. Thank you again. Just curious is there a better buzz tv box then the one I have?

as asked earlier which server type are you using?

Under server settings it shows two server options under the Mac server tab. I have tried the other, but the tv feed was low resolution. So have stayed on top the main one. Does that help?

 It’s really annoying. So much for favorites if I need t search it every time to get all the episodes to show. Lol.

When you are on liveTV and you press the menu button, what version of BuzzTV are you running ?  Should be 5.0.xxx.

Are you sure the issues you have are NOT related to the service you are using ?   Just to check for stuff like EPG and stuff, have you tried using another app as a test ?  Something like STBEmu if you are using a MAC type sub, or IPTV Smarters if you are using XC type sub ?

PS: if you need further help with the B5, please start a post in the B5 section, since your issue is not necessarily with this firmware update.

 

Hi there. Thank you for responding. I do apologize I am fairly new to this whole iptv boxes. Under the live tv it says 5.0.946 01/03/2025. So not sure how to use other apps on thru this box. Ugh. 

How can I tell what box I have? My serial number BuzztvB53497XXXX under official firmware it says B5 V20241010. I keep telling it to check for updates, but I don’t see this new update avail. I can’t seem to find any other way to update it??? I’m having lots of issues with favourited programs not being updated to show all available episodes. I also get a lot of tv guide no information about or unable to start a past tv program. Very frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
