Like Ryu said, it is NOT a good idea to use as internal storage.  That can cause all sorts of issues, and the day your ssd or usb connection get's flaky, it will corrupt your whole box and be forced to do another factory reset.  Format it as portable storage and it can be used for downloading movies, recordings, etc.. as long as you set the options accordingly int he PVR options section.

And as a test, IF it is possible, if the freezing persists, try to run an ethernet cable from your router, to the box, to eliminate the possibility that it is some sort of interference with the wifi causing the freezing.   Does your router only show a single SSID and handle band steering internally, or does it present 2 SSID (one for 2.4Ghz band,  and one for 5Ghz band) where you manually can select the one you want ?  Very often many routers can cause glitches in the way they try to do band steering and sometimes constantly try to renegotiate back and forth between both bands.  You are better off, if possible to disable any automatic band steering and ideally be able to manually choose a 2.4 or 5Ghz SSID.

Yes, I have updated the the pvr settings as well. I will try the Ethernet cable later as well. My router has each frequency on a different option to manually choose. Good info. Thank you!

  2. Okay, I switched it back to external drive, and I believe it is better, though my YouTube TV app still stutters a bit. I think they may need to update the app. I wrote to the to do so, but I don't think they care much. The other apps all seem to work fine now.

    Thank you!

  3. Classic Anniversary Edition, connected to Wi-Fi router from fiber network. Updated to the 946 Buzz TV 5 firmware. Have a WD Elements 1TB external SSD drive, using as internal storage.

  4. I recently made the upgrade from the HD 5 dongle to the classic anniversary edition. But I am finding the picture and audio freezing and stuttering at times. I have the latest update loaded, V20250412. I cannot tell if the firmware needs an update or if it is the streaming box that has a problem.

  5. I have a new Classic Anniversary Edition, as a recent upgrade from the HD5. I did update the firmware immediately (20250412). Only the YouTube TV app audio & video stutters occasionally. I also wrote to YouTube TV, but of course they never respond. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same issue with the app?
