Is there a PS6 Power Setting to Select Shutdown or Standby ??
cyrowth replied to cyrowth's topic in PowerStation
Emporium, in another thread, Watchwally posted a similar issue with his PS6 when moving from a Firestick -- where HDMI-CEC worked fine to turn On/Off all home theater devices with the Firestick remote. He has not been able to get the PS6 to work the same way. The common denominator between our two setups is a Yamaha receiver. It could be that Yamaha receivers are just more finicky with HDMI-CEC signals ?? If he finds a solution, I hope he will post it. -

That may be a better solution. My Onn 4k Plus does only go into Standby mode and the receiver successfully detects it coming out of standby. So, no reason your suggestion couldn't work as well as shutdown. -

nbs, thanks for your help. My wife is going to be the primary user and is unwilling/unable to deal with the complications the PS6 presents compared to other boxes. Unfortunately, I packed it up and returned it yesterday. I'll wait and see the details of the new G-Series box. If it doesn't have a Power Option, I'll probably just get a Ugoos AM9 Pro. I'll continue using my X5 until then. Thanks again to everyone who advised me along the way. I think my setup may be a special case. -

This really does matter to me for below reasons. Buzz TV Tech Support gave me this unfortunate input: "The SoC used in the PS6 does not support configurable shutdown power. This is a hardware limitation, not a software setting. If this feature were technically possible to add, we would add it". After completing the initial setup with the PS6 connected directly to the LG G3 OLED TV, I moved it into my electronics cabinet and plugged it into my A/V receiver that is connected via a top-quality 8k HDMI cable run through the wall to the recessed TV. However, my high-end receiver does not sense the PS6 as turning ON when it just wakes up from Standby mode, so does not power on and neither does the TV. HDMI-CEC has functioned perfectly with my previously installed Buzz X5, Formuler Z11 Pro Max, Mecool KM2, Onn 4k, and lately an Onn 4k Plus when identically connected to the A/V receiver. All were able to turn entire system on and off with a single remote using HDMI-CEC. As a test, I unplugged the PS6 with all system devices shutdown and then plugged it back in. The PS6 powered up and booted normally, the receiver sensed it starting and powered up as did the TV -- the same successful start sequence as all the other previous devices. So, if there was a Power Option feature to set Shutdown vs Standby (as there is in the Buzz X5 and other Buzz devices), the PS6 HDMI-CEC would work just fine in controlling all the Home Theater system devices during startup and shutdown. My wife just can't deal over the long-term with having to power up all the devices with separate remotes and then selecting the right input port in the receiver each time at startup. So, I may have to part ways with my PS6. -
Is there a PS6 Power Setting to Select Shutdown or Standby ??

I think the default is set to Standby/Suspend. I would like to change to Shutdown if possible like on my X5, but I can't find a setting to select Shutdown ? Does anyone know how to change if it is possible ? -
Will give that a try. Not a big deal at this point but would be nice since I have paid apps under my existing account.

Yes. Did a Clear Data and Cache, turned off VPN and tried different servers, tried logging into both the Android account in settings and into the Playstore directly. Did all the power cycling stuff and changed to wi-fi from ethernet connection. Made sure everything is updated to latest versions. In both places, on the sign-in window when I click the sign-in box expecting to get the screen to enter user and password, it just flashes momentarily and then returns to the original sign0in screen. As mentioned, I can log into the Playstore and see and install all purchased apps on my 3 other devices logged into my old account. On the X5, I'll just transfer with USB from my computer. With the Troypoint Toolbox and 3 other good appstores I have installed, I think I'm good to go for everything I would ever need without the Google PlayStore. Was just the technical challenge to get it to work as designed that bugged me on a freezing indoor day. Do you think re-installing the Playststion app by overwriting is worth a try ?

sea157 -- I have no problem connecting to the PlayStore on 3 other Google/Android TV devices, only the X5. On the X5, I went ahead installed 3 of the major apps stores to be able to download without the PlayStore. All my computers and tablets can also download from the PlayStore and I could use a USB to get them on the X5 for installation. Was looking for a simple fix to prevent the need for going to these backup procedures. But, I believe I've exhausted every troubleshooting approach to fix it short of reset. This is the only problem with an otherwise perfectly functioning X5, so reset is not happening.

nbs -- I think I understand now what you were telling me. Learned today that you can use a laptop to access the PlayStore and install an app on all Google linked devices. Unfortunately, now that my X5 can not sign-in to Google, it does not show up as one of the devices for install. Fortunately, there are a lot of other app stores that I can use. Until I reach a point where something important can ONLY be gotten on the Playstore. Then I guess I could just use the Chrome browser on the X5 to download that particular item. Shouldn't be many if any. All in all not as big a deal as I initially thought. Nothing requiring a reset. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Not using a browser. Sign-in issues are X5 -> Settings -> Accounts -> Google and when opening the Play Store app installed on the X5. I need to be able to download apps for install from the Play Store. Using a browser to download apks would be a backup but I'd much prefer getting the app to work if possible.

I have a new Google account and attempted to change it over in my X5. First tried to Add Account in Android settings. When I selected Google as the type of account, it started working and reverted back to the add account screen. Decided to first delete the old Google account and try again -- same result. Turned off Nord VPN in case it was interfering -- same result. Restarted X5 with no change in behavior. Next I opened Google Playstore after cleaning the app data and cache. Sign-in window opened. Put in new login info, clicked sign-in box and again it looked like it was trying to connect and reverted back to the initial sign-in window with no error message or notification. EVERTTHING else is working perfectly. At a loss for what to do next short of reset ??

T28, do you connect your receiver to the TV eARC HDMI port or one of the non-ARC ports ?? Does it matter for HDMI-CEC performance -- I do not use any TV apps that need to play back audio through the receiver ??

Can you link 2 Buzz BT remotes to the PS6 ??

BuzzTV6 Application: Wishlist for New Features and Enhancements
cyrowth replied to Stugots's topic in PowerStation
I would like to see the ability to use alternative EPG links like MyEPG, etc. with xstream setups, not just with m3u in Buzz TV 6. I can with TiviMate but you loose the integrated buttons on the remote that only work with the Buzz TV players. -
Considering a PS6 purchase, but saw several threads online that raised issues with it being plugged into an A/V receiver vs directly into TV (then using e.arc). I have a remote electronics cabinet with a 25' 8K HDMI cable running from my receiver to my LG OLED TV. All current video and audio devices (including 2 Android TV/Google TV boxes) are plugged into the receiver with HDMI-CEC enabled on all devices, and everything seems to work just fine. So, a new Power Station 6 would be connected to internet via ethernet and by HDMI to one of the inputs on the receiver -- with the TV connected to the TV OUT HDMI port on the receiver. The Buzz PS6 setup says “The PS6 MUST be connected directly to the TV with the included HDMI cable” One online post claims that this Buzz PS6 "requirement" to connect directly to the TV is only mandatory for initial setup. However, another user with the PS6 says that he had issues setting up his PS6 by connecting directly to his TV and then moving it into his Home Theater system (setup like my A/V receiver centric system). He relayed some issues after moving input from TV to receiver (i.e. apps not playing properly, etc.). Is this really a HARD requirement to plug PS6 directly into TV ? What would be the major concern if I plugged a PS6 into my A/V receiver as with my current Formuler Z11 Pro Max and Onn4K Plus devices ??? Hard for me to believe that any high-quality Android/Google TV box can’t be plugged into an A/V receiver and from there into the TV. With the expense of the PS6, I don't want any surprises after purchasing.
