That should not make a difference, but doesn't hurt to try switching.

  • It is not sitting near any heat source (TV heat vent, etc..) ?
  • Is it getting too hot maybe ?
  • Have you tried maybe changing the USB cable or block adapter used for powering the device ?  I have seen cases where cable or block adapter can no longer provide the required current (ie: they just fail at higher loads).
