It never did with buzztv, that's why I was in touch with allaboutbuzz, time shift works OK with famous competitor box, you just click on rewind or left button I believe in remote and it keeps going to the past event, almost like rewinding a video, I believe same way infomir box does. With buzztv unless you have an Epg time shift doesn't work. I know you'd expect all channels to have Epg but with some channels it's not the case Last year I gave Allaboutbuzz access to my server where channels don't have Epg, I know techs from Ukraine were using it, he said firmware are is ready and will be pushed to my box but didn't hear back from him I hope the firmware update people are talking about fixes this issue too, otherwise any idea what are the things that changed? Did pm you. We were in touch last year regarding little issue with using time shifting when no epg is there, so far it works only if there is Epg on the channel Thx

Auto refresh rate isn't implemented in buzz, I mentioned that months ago, they may or may not add it

Well. I had infomir une the past and without Epg you can rewind regardless, other box that uses android without mentioning the name does the same. If no EPG is available, it should just show the content by hour or something like that, that's what I always thought when I used other devices and it always worked

Already done but shouldn't really matter. Catch up should be related to timing not Epg, if no EPG is there, box needs to just set Epg to like not available and have ability to other to go back by hour like 2pm-1pm-12pm-11am-10-9-8.... That type of thing

You're talking about catch up when using m3u. I know this issue The problem even with portal url, catch up works only with EPG, if no EPG is available it won't work at all Hopefully someone from the team can let us know if it's known issue or it's just me doing something wrong.

Hi I'm using portal url I noticed that unless Epg is available that's when I can rewind to older time and from then fast forward if I need to If Epg is not available I can't do that, I can't go back in time it says just loading or no information available, so catch up doesn't work Is that normal? I had another box and even without Epg I was able to use catch up without a problem Thx for your inputs

Isp sometimes blocks iptv stream. Try to open portal using your phone (use both home wifi and lte/4g) if you see blank screen on wifi and stb not not supported on lte then that means your Isp is blocking the stream, in that case try calling iptv service provider and ask if they have another portal url (most server have many links which lead to same server) sometimes Isp block certain url but not others Iptv can be so tricky and hard to know where problem is VPN obviously can fix the issue but connection won't be as good as home wifi or ethernet

Buy adapter HDD to USB (they sell it cheap on Amazon) and plug it to a computer, you can do it in bestbuy store or something where they have display laptops and try formatting the HDD, before you take it back to your buzztv and see

Try removing your internal hard drive, format it using windows or something and place it back to buzztv. Don't format it using buzztv, just use it as it is and see how it works

Did you format after your recording clips? I noticed buzztv still show the recorded videossfter you format the hard drive. You will see them but obviously they won't play. You need to delete anything that was recorded but you formatted after. Make sure you set pvr to the external hard drive if you don't want to record in the internal buzztv memory

I did pm allaboutbuzztv do you have access to 4K VOD content (not youtube or other app) and see if you can playback videos without issues. some don't especially Skyfall 4K (James Bond movie) Thx

Hi I'm still playing with my XRS 4900 and on a learning curve. Thx for the forum and developers that listen to the feedback I have some questions which are somewhat related. When I turn on auto switch to best resolution, it default into 2160p60hz which I'm fine with but there are content (mainly non north american (europe, north africa, middle east) either iptv or movies that are 50hz but I don't see buzztv auto switch refresh rate when I change from 60hz content to 50hz content, what ever is set stays the same, if it's set to 60hz, all content is played 60hz, if I switch off auto switch to best resolution and set resolution to 2160hz50hz, all content is played at 50hz You know some movies are run in 24 or 25hz, so it's good to have a box that auto switch refresh rate to avoid stuttering and frame drop here and there I know it wasn't doable with old android versions but I think they fixed that recently, even other competitors have that added and they don't even have full android TV but just modified android mobile or whatever it's called I also saw a display mode named 4k2k-smpte (not sure what smpte stands for) Thanks for looking into this, or maybe I'm missing something and needs some clerance

you mean switching between default and secondary. Yes I just did that and it's still stuttering btw which one you guys use for both live/vod/series: default or secondary? Thx

what 2 media players you are referring to? are there 2? I only use the default one with buzztv 5, not sure how to switch with a different player f it exists when you say pm info. what kind of info he needs? but anyway I can send him more info. I know it's an .mkv that is being played Thanks

Hi I just bought xrs4900. I like the buzz 5, I'm still learning how to use, features to add... I just noticed some of 4k movies on vod don't play, well they do play for few seconds but stutter and get blocked for 10 seconds or so then plays for a seconds then stops again It doesn't happen for all 4k movies but just some of them I tried same movie from on same iptv server on a formuler box and I noticed same the issue I then tried same movie using smart iptv on LG TV and it played well without any stuttering So I'm guessing it's a codec issue, I don't know if there is a way to try a different media player or if someone is having similar issue. I can give access to my box or give a trial to same server and will tell you the movie that does not play as it should Thx

Hi I'm excited about my new buzztv xrs4900. It should arrive tomorrow I come from a different android TV which is a different brand but has decent features, xrs4900 is a beast when it comes to specs. Im sure you know the app that I'm talking about, I can post the name but I don't wanna brake the forum rules by mentioning a competitor, app is super helpful especially when you need to write a long url or things of that nature. I hope the support team can work in building such amazing app.
