  2. I happened to be one which was lucky enough to have an X5 with this firmware. I got the files listed in this post, made my own SD card, and installed it quite easily. It updates you to 20220811 firmware, but at that point the OTA updates are enabled/fixed, and the box will shortly after a reboot update to the latest. Go take a look at the video that is in the post. The only comment I would make on the video is: In the video at about the 2minute mark it shows the box with RED light, and shows it quickly switch to blue. In reality, that can take anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes before it turns blue and powers up. During this period DO NOT unplug it. I thought something had gone wrong with mine when I did it, but I waited. Be patient, it will eventually power up. It is a long 3 or 4 minutes when you are just staring at it, but it works well. Think about it, like someone forgetting the keys in the car. You need to find someway to get back in. It is inconvenient, YES. But there is a solution. It is not something that happens often. I have had Buzz boxes since the XPL3000 many years ago, and this is an isolated incident. It can happen.

  7. @Emporium RE: "Reality is, the source button is just a programmable button. You can program it to do anything you want." Thank you very much for that insight. I was able to come up with a partial solution because of it. I need the first programmable button to control power, so that only leaves the other button I can fiddle with. So I tied the second programmable button to switch to HDMI 1. Which means I need the original TV remote to switch to any other input; not an ideal solution but better than nothing. There IS a Google Assistant button on the original TV remote; if I could have tied the second programmable button to the GA that would have been a reasonable solution; as long as the original remote is close enough (it has a microphone) I could have "told" GA to just switch inputs for me. But for some reason, the 2nd programmable button on the ARQ-100 won't bind to it. Oh well. @Ryu Yeah lol this is the first new TV we bought in years and it happens to be "special" that way. Oh well.

  9. @dikuser I don't know why you're bringing up my sister Karen. She has nothing to do with buzz. Grow up, shut up and keep things on topic instead of insulting people (my sister). If you have nothing intelligent to say and you don't, than just zip it. You are single handedly wrecking this forum.

  10. The issue was caused by an outside source not notifying buzz of a security update The number of units with the June firmware is small under 100 and a fix was issued If the fix didn't work or the customer wasn't techy enough to do the fix an exchange is arranged. I think that is good service.

  11. Reality is, the source button is just a programmable button. You can program it to do anything you want. Unfortunately, your issue is that the implementation of a "source change" on your TV, requires you to press enter. This is not very common (at least not on the TVs that I have seen). If you can achieve a source change with a single button from your original TV remote, then you should be able to program that button on the ARQ-100. If you need more (like in your case, hitting enter), you would be out of luck. On most TVs, pressing the source button just cycles between the input without requiring additional confirmation from the remote. In some cases, it will show a menu which allows it to select inputs, and there is an auto timeout that if you stay on same selection for more than 2 or 3 seconds, it auto selects and switches to it. Does you original remote have a "quick" discrete button for switching to a specific input ? I know my old sharp TV had a source button (to switch between inputs), but also had 2 other buttons which were direct shortcuts (one direct for TV, and the other for HDMI1). Unless your TV has a single button switch option, I think you would be out of luck. UNLESS... If you don't use the TV power button (depending on habits - some people always turn TV on using TV remote, you can always program the "TV power" button, as the TV Enter key.

  12. You all just won't let it go. I have a new box that won't update. Never will without this "fix". Most won't know they have a box that won't update. I seriously doubt these updates were released that do nothing to enhance the user experience. This thread tells me a lot about Buzztv as a company. The name-calling and accusations of me as a person are wrong. Keep the bullies around Buzz. They sure are an asset. See "the click" soon. Happy surfing.

  13. Update. Now it even does the same thing without even changing channels. Just leave it on and wait for it. Do not update to any firmware IMO. If ain't broke don't fix it. Basically, a brick that collect dust. Hopefully it gets resolved soon. I might not buy or recommend Buzz products anymore. Back to Formuler.
