  1. Last week
  2. Thanks Emporium. I have an Onn device as well and will give it a try. Also will investigate other google-based codes. Maybe I'll get lucky. If not, just means my wife and I will have to have 2 remotes each on our side table.
  3. Don't know if any universal remote, but one thing I did notice is that the Onn remote that came with my el-cheapo walmart device, worked quite well on my buzz boxes. Found out accidently, so something to keep in mind. Maybe some other google based device code will work similarly. Don't get me wrong, the "google" remote layout is minimalistic compared to the buzz remote, but just saying. The basic functions are there.
  4. Does anyone use a universal remote that works with a Buzz X5 and can control at least 3 other devices. ? My Harmony universal IR remote, which I have been using successfully with the Buzz X5, A/V Receiver, and TV for many years has failed (and Harmony has now exited the universal remote business). I have ordered a couple of high-rated universal remotes on Amazon, but they do not have Buzz as one of their many media streaming devices in their code library (none allow you to view their code library before purchase). I'm sure the Buzz X5 might respond to the code for one of the other streamers, TVs or other media devices controlled, but trying all the available codes without being able to narrow it down seems like a hopeless undertaking. My A/V receiver and a couple of other devices are IR only, so a Bluetooth only remote won't work for me. I'm hoping someone has found a "non-Harmony" universal IR remote that works with the Buzz X5 -- or else someone who has some insight on how to approach syncing these other multi-device universal remotes that don't have Buzz in their canned library of devices controlled ?? The "learning" function on the higher priced remotes are often hit and miss.
  5. Real Time Streaming also should be disbaled. Unless you actually plan to use it. Read the description of it when highlighted. Most users have no use for it, but turn it on for some reason.
  6. it depends on how many connections your service provides
  7. Hi everyone, Just wanted to mention that the BuzzTV X5 128AI has made a great step front. Since last update we now can pause, rewind, forward. That is great news, but regarding recording we have to view the channel we are recording or lived it open overnight for recording. Is it me not understanding the settings or it's the way it is. Thanks Gilles
  8. Quick update - The problematic VOD movies started playing correctly once I switched to the Backup video player. Appreciate the tip.
  9. The Buzz TV version is 5.0.919. I will try to disable the Tunnel playback per your suggestion. Thanks for all the feedback.
  10. Thanks for your reply. Will try what you suggest. Even though I don't watch cam or TS you're right, it still could be the source
  11. Try switching the VOD+TvSeries to secondary and see if that helps. Otherwise you can choose and External player and maybe try the standalone VLC player so that way you can go into the settings and manually adjust the audio settings within VLC You sure it is not the source themselves ? Some services I have seen that still include CAM or TS rips for newer films, which have crappy sound. Try maybe an older 4k movie or something which are typically better quality. Just saying.
  12. LiveTV and VOD/TVseries can be set to different players depending on your service. Both have Primary and Backup, and for VOD/TVSeries you can even select external. For my Primary service the best combination that just works is Primary for LiveTV and Backup for VOD+TVSeries. Obviously this can be different depending on your service. What version of BuzzTV are you runnning ? Either scroll down on the left of the screenshot you posted (and it should be at the bottom), or press menu while in live TV and it should be on the bottom left (should be 5.0.xxx). Also I notice in your screenshot that you have enabled "Real Time Streaming" and "Tunneled playback". They are NOT necessarily compatible with all IPTV services (especially tunneled playback). There is even a comment about it at the bottom of the tunnelled playback help text that appears to the right of it when it you select it. Should maybe try to disable them and see if it helps.
  13. Oh I should have expanded. Only when I am on VOD. All other apps and when I am on regular TV channels are fine.
  14. Is this with ALL apps ? Even Youtube ? Or just BuzzTV 5, IPTV streams ? I have an old Sharp 1080p TV, and an archaic Audiovox which does not even have HDMI in (using AV cable with the old yellow/red/white analog cables) and I don't have any issue even at factory settings.
  15. Can anyone help me with sounds settings? Background noise is too loud and I can not hear voices. Sound is only coming from my TV. I did increase the treble and lower the bass on my TV and it did help a bit. I also changed from stadium, to music, etc and found the best one there. (I don't have any other settings on my TV like Dynamic range to adjust so that's why I went with treble and bass). In the buzzbox I went into settings and then "audio output". I played around with DTS Sounds and ended up going with 80% and this seems to help. Under "Sound" - system sounds in turned on and I can not toggle any of the other options under "Select formats". Does anyone have any other suggestions? Am I missing something?
  16. How can I find out the media player that is being used for Live TV? When I click on Menu > Settings > Configuration > Live TV, I do not see any player listed. I only get t a choice of Primary or Backup and no players are listed. See attached pic.
  17. What you tried to do with your mac info with the other ways just is not possible. What media player are you using for live tv ?
  18. My player currently is Mac. I tried to switch by using the same URL that I use for Mac with m3u and xc api (Menu > Settings > Server Settings) and both modes were unable to connect to my service portal. Any other suggestions? BTW, just got the "Unknown Steam" error again with Live TV and had to restart the box.
  19. have to you tried to switch media player? if not then try and let us know. you can switch from live tv press menu, settings, configuration, live tv and select player
  20. For the last several weeks, my Buzz TV5 64 AI box displays "Unknown Stream Error" while playing Live TV at random and when I switch on the TV for the first time virtually every day. I cannot get any feed until I restart the Box. Additionally, there are also some VOD movies that don't play and display the same "unknown stream error" message but my other non-Buzz boxes have no such problems playing the same VOD movies. I have verified that my internet connection to the box is quite good when this issue happens. I have the latest firmware installed (see pic). Any suggestions on how I can fix this problem?
  21. live tv/menu/settings/configuration/app settings/group channel numbering-on and wtf is buzztv 5x?
  22. This was the reply to dishuser and Emporium. Naw won't work because sometimes the channels I want to group together are not even sequential I mean one channel maybe channnel 300 and the next one of the same TV show maybe 350 or 400 or something else. So I may have a channel like this 304 24/7| The Dukes of Hazzard Next channel of the same show maybe 467 24/7-EN| The Dukes of Hazzard And yes this is what is happening. I dunno how these providers determine how to order their lists but some one is doing a horrible job at it. So Ya ordering by number isn't going to work because they aren't sequencial and they even have different tags before them. I don't get these brain dead IPTV providers who organize things like this. This is the problem I am facing. so ordering by number isn't going to help me. Oh and I can find them but I have very specific needs such as my 24/7 channels and other stuff so it does make it harder. Maybe not but there could be a way to turn on or off the feature in the settings if a person doesn't want to use it. I mean if android IPTV apps can put a feature in like this then BuzzTV should be able to sneak it in there some where. If you can do this on the phone. We should be able to do this on a Buzz TV XR4000 box running Android 9. Apps like OTT Navigator have it. Ya well filtering out tags would be a great feature for BuzzTV 5.x in the future maybe providing the CPU would be able to handle it. I mean a lot of apps on android have that feature already available. So it should be possible maybe consider this for a future possibly? An imporvement / feature for Buzz TV 5.x

  24. This option does not exist on buzztv 5. You can manually sort the channels by ch numbers, A-Z, or user organized, you can put them in different favorites groups if you want. But filtering out what you call "tags", does not exist. I personally prefer to keep my channels grouped by prefix tag anyhow (I know I have my 24/7 favorites on top, followed by my CA, then FRCAN, then US and then US-720 - and all premium type channels which I don't watch as often are in a second fav category), but that is a personal preference. And in cases like my elderly mom who is tech illiterate, I download her M3U file every so often, quick compare to her last one to see if any streams have changed. I extract out the channels she wants and create an M3U file and I put it online on my account with all the mods and that is what she loads all the time. Channel names are what I want them to be, and they are in the order I want them to be. Sometimes I even play jokes on her and put messages in her channel titles in () and she gets a good giggle. And you say that "There isn't much a user can do if the IPTV provider are idiots", but the truth is, you can, you can find another provider, there are 1000s of them out there. Not saying it is not possible (it's just software after all), but the 4000 is already pretty taxed for performance with BuzzTV5. Not sure adding another layer of local filtering is something many would want. The 4000 if I am not mistaken is the lowest powered buzz box running buzztv5 right now (except possibly for the vidstick ST4000). Even the E2 has a slightly more powerful processor (I have one in my kitchen), and any slower and it would be in the closet with my xpl3000 BuzzTV 6 is just around the corner, and would be curious to see the new features on that. Doubt the 4000 will ever run buzztv6 (since it started with Buzztv4), so that would require a newer box eventually. And I am pretty sure most "new" feature development will be concentrated on the latest and greatest (which makes sense).
